Retainers suit a specific situation: you have work every month, but not enough of it to employ somebody, and quoting each small job separately wastes more time than the job takes. Paying a set fee removes the admin and puts you at the front of the queue rather than behind whoever booked first.
There are four tiers below. They differ in what the hours are spent on, not in how the arrangement works. All of them are a fixed monthly fee, a named person, and a thirty day notice period. If you are unsure which fits, the answer is usually whichever describes most of what you asked for last quarter.

They roll over within the same month so a quiet fortnight is not wasted, but they do not bank up indefinitely. If you are consistently not using the hours, we will say so and move you down a tier rather than keep taking the fee.
No. Thirty days notice, cancel whenever. The retainer has to keep earning its place every month, which is the right pressure for us to be under.
