State of UK Logo Pricing 2026
UK Logo Pricing 2026: What the Market Charges, and What We Could Actually Verify
A guide to UK logo design pricing bands (marketplace, independent UK studio, established agency and premium), anchored to Luxbranding’s own published logo design price and to public UK data sources, each linked at the point it is used. This page previously stated dozens of precise percentages and medians presented as original research. On review we could not find any dataset, sample or tracking process behind them anywhere in this business, so every unverifiable figure has been removed rather than re-dressed with a fake sample size. See the correction note below.
An earlier version of this page presented percentages such as “73% of marketplace logos have no vector files,” per-sector median spends, a five-year pricing-trend chart, and a UK-vs-US-vs-EU pricing comparison as original research. We audited every numeric claim against this project’s own records and against the public sources it cited. We found no dataset, survey, tracked panel of rate cards, or any other record anywhere in this business that produced those numbers. They were not derived from anything we can point to, so we have removed them rather than attach a sample size or date that would make them look more rigorous than they are.
Two claims that were attributed to named public sources also did not match those sources on checking: a Design Council UK report cited as a “2024 release” (the two identifiable Design Council Design Economy reports were published in 2022 and 2026, not 2024), and a Companies House figure claiming UK design-business registrations rose “approximately 40% between 2018 and 2024” (the closest comparable published figures for design-related business counts over that period show low single-digit percentage annual growth, nowhere near 40% cumulative). Both have been removed rather than corrected with a guessed figure.
What remains below is what we could verify: Luxbranding’s own current published price, this business’s own trust rating and founding date, the standard UK VAT rate, and general, clearly-labelled market observations that are not presented as measured statistics. Public sources are linked at first use, not only in a general list at the bottom.
1. UK logo pricing tiers, in plain terms
UK logo design pricing is commonly discussed in four rough bands. These are descriptive categories used across the industry, not a measured breakdown of who buys what. We have not measured that, so we are not claiming a percentage of buyers in each band.
- Marketplace: typically under £100 (Fiverr, 99designs’ basic tier, Canva Pro/Adobe Express templates). Fast turnaround, but commonly limited file formats, limited or no copyright transfer, and high duplication risk because the same design can be resold.
- Independent UK studio: Luxbranding sits here, at a fixed £129Our price. Studios in this band typically offer custom design, full file formats and full copyright transfer, without an agency’s overhead.
- Established UK agency: typically low thousands of pounds, for businesses that want strategic positioning work, multiple senior reviewers and a fuller brand system alongside the logo itself.
- Premium / global agency: typically five figures and up, for scale-ups, listed companies and brand relaunches where the fee covers research, naming and a full multi-touchpoint identity system, not just a mark.
The clearest, most defensible distinction between these bands is not a percentage we can cite. It is what is included. A marketplace purchase is usually a finished image file. A studio or agency price includes source files, full copyright transfer and, further up the bands, strategic work behind the mark. That is a real, checkable difference in deliverables, covered in the comparison below, rather than a market-share statistic we cannot support.
2. What each tier typically includes
This reflects what is commonly advertised or included at each tier, based on Luxbranding’s own published inclusions and the publicly advertised terms of marketplace platforms and agency service pages. It is a comparison of typical terms, not a measured survey, and we have not attached a percentage to any row that we cannot back with a source.
| Item | Marketplace | Independent UK studio | Established UK agency |
|---|---|---|---|
| Custom design (not a template) | Sometimes | Always | Always |
| Vector file formats (AI, EPS, SVG) | Often a paid extra | Included | Included |
| Source files (editable) | Rarely included | Included | Included |
| Copyright transfer | Conditional on licence | Always, in writing | Always, in writing |
| Brand guidelines document | Not offered | Basic, sometimes | Comprehensive |
| Strategy / positioning work | Not offered | Light | Substantial |
3. Common pricing mistakes
Buying a logo before defining the business
Commissioning a logo before the business has clarified its own positioning is a common, well-understood cause of an early rebrand. We see this repeatedly in our own client conversations; we are not claiming a measured rate for how often it happens.
Skipping the trademark check
UK businesses that commission a logo, then build signage and printed collateral, and only then discover a conflicting trademark at the UK Intellectual Property Office, face real reprint and rebrand costs. A free trademark search on the IPO’s own trademark search tool before commissioning avoids this. We have removed a specific cost range that was previously stated here, as we could not verify it against any source.
Choosing logo style based on the product rather than the audience
Category clichés (green/white/red for an Italian restaurant, curry-house typography for an Indian restaurant, leaf motifs for a garden service) are a design judgement issue, not a statistic. The audience’s expectations should drive the design brief, not the category.
Selecting price over scope
A cheaper marketplace logo with no vector files, no copyright transfer and no source files can cost more later, once vehicle signage, trademark registration or a design refresh require exactly what was not included the first time.
4. Methodology & sources
This guide combines two kinds of information, marked apart wherever a specific figure is used:
- Luxbranding’s own published priceOur data: our current, publicly listed logo design price, linked above. This is the only figure on this page describing our own business, and it is a list price, not an order count, a customer count or a revenue figure.
- Public UK sourcesPublic data: named and linked at the point each is used, namely the UK Intellectual Property Office for trademark search guidance and GOV.UK for the standard UK VAT rate. We removed references to Design Council, ONS and Companies House figures that we could not verify as stated; see the correction note above.
Everything else on this page, including the tier structure, the deliverables comparison and the common-mistakes list, is Luxbranding’s own editorial and professional judgement from operating as a UK logo design studio since 2017. It is presented as guidance, not as a data study, and no percentage or count is attached to it unless we can point to where that number comes from.
Pricing figures throughout are 2026 UK GBP, exclusive of VAT (the UK standard VAT rate is 20% for VAT-registered design businesses serving B2B; consumer-facing prices are typically VAT-inclusive).

Frequently asked questions
What does this page cover? +
UK logo design pricing bands for 2026 (marketplace, independent UK studio, established agency, premium), what each typically includes, and Luxbranding's own current logo design price. It does not claim a measured market-share or spend breakdown by sector or business stage.
Can I cite this in an article? +
Yes. Every figure on the page is sourced inline: it is either Luxbranding's own published price or a linked public source (UK Intellectual Property Office, GOV.UK VAT rates). Suggested citation: "UK Logo Pricing 2026," Luxbranding, corrected September 2026.
Where is the data from? +
Luxbranding's own current, published logo design price, and named public sources linked at the point each is used. An earlier version of this page cited additional percentages and a Design Council / Companies House / ONS-attributed methodology; on review in September 2026 we could not verify those figures against any dataset or against the named sources, so they were removed rather than re-published with an invented sample size.
How does UK logo pricing compare internationally? +
We do not have a verified international pricing comparison and have removed the one previously on this page, which we could not trace to any source.
Can I request comment or further detail? +
Yes. Email support@luxbranding.co.uk for comment on UK logo and brand-identity pricing, or to check a figure before publishing.
